1) 250 gramms Ash Guard. ( When you buy a cut piece of Ash Guard, make sure it is from a big fruit.) – 2) 1 cup milk ( You can use evaporated milk for better flavor, in that case you would need only half the tin.) – 3) Sugar, to taste. ( I have used 1 tablespoon. You can also use sweetners of your choice.) – 4) 1 Tablespoon ghee. – 5) Dry fruits of choice. (about 1 tablespoon ) To make the kheer – 1) Peel and grate the ash guard (discard the seeds). It will leave lot of water, while grating. Use the same water to cook it. – 2) In a heavy bottom vessel or pressure cooker, add the grated ash guard and cook till, most of the water is evaporated. If pressure cooking it, you can cook it for a minute or two and then, open the cooker and cook till most of the water is evaporated. – 3) Add sugar and milk and cook for 3 to 4 minutes. – 4) Put off the heat and add chopped dry fruits. You may add food essence of your choice. The kheer will thicken, when cooled. Ingredients
